There was some canola grown in WC IL in the early nineties. It was promoted as a crop that could be used in conjunction with soybeans to double crop. It had some problems. It wasn’t able to be harvested as early as they thought. It didn’t perform as well as expected and the market was never developed. As I recall the combines and old grains trucks had have some duct tape applied to hold that stuff inside!
Has anyone here grown canola in Central IL?
