Subject: RE: Speaking of Raccoons....

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
If I'm reading the the last couple of posts correctly, I've been baiting mine incorrectly. I put the bait on top of the trigger and seemed to have good success. I'm not having any luck this time around so I guess I could try the bait below the trigger pad. I've tried to leave a couple of marshmallows outside the trap to lure them in but none of the mushrooms have been disturbed either in or around the trap.

I mentioned to my neighbor that I had cleaned and lubed my traps. He said that would not be advised at least when trapping fox as the smell of humans and the oil would keep them away. He said they always "boiled" the fox traps in water before placing them. Maybe that's my problem this year.

I always follow the permanent relocation plan at the abandoned dooryard next to me. I've seen plenty of roadkill lately.
