In Duluth next to the bridge on the Island road that they lift to allow ships into the harbor SW of Duluth. Next to the bridge is a ship based museum. And in western Duluth there are a couple ships dry docked with tours available to see how the crew lived. There is a ship along the road down towards Superior Wisconsin also in dry dock.

There is a lot of river and boats museums in Dubuque, Iowa. And like Duluth a big collection of water creatures in water tanks.

There is a bald eagle place in SE MN, that lets you get very close to tamed eagles. And in Windom there is a super water and ships painting museum. Look for SE Minnesota travel guides for details. And then NE Iowa travel guides, or Travel Iowa and look at its north east details.
