| I live within 8 miles of the museum, and I've never been there. I am a nothing but Green guy, but I have to get there before it closes. Jerry Mez has been very good for the Avoca community and surrounding areas. Funny story about Jerry, he was my Sunday school teacher about 45 years ago at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Avoca. For many years before he opened the Museum, Jerry would display a large part of his collection at the East Pottawattamie Fair Grounds each year during the fair, so I have seen many of his items. Its sad that its closing. Too bad the right someone doesn't win the lottery before September 27th, and offer to buy the entire collection and Museum property. What is a priceless collection like this worth? | |
