Sioux County, NWIA | HERE, most of the time if hay is raked two wide flat windrows on one the day before baling, the new windrow will take on more moisture over night than it will lose the next day, particularly if the ground is damp yet. With light crops I have had some success raking two windrows on one the day before baling, then raking two of those on one the day of baling. I try to rake alfalfa with the dew off but before the leaves lose their toughness. | |
