My recommendation is, if you’re happy with the job, I wouldn’t change them.
I think you taught me something. I thought the cup really needed to be up in wheat. With the cup up, they wear the tips out and turn into “snake-tongues”, at which point they need replacement. It looks like they would wear longer the way you have them. And they’re not cheap or easy to replace (that’s my pet peeve on Shelbournes).
Given the fact that the original Shelbournes were equipped with only the plastic teeth, I have a hard time believing it makes a huge difference if the steel teeth are cupped up or down. But I probably have only 10-15000 acres of experience with them, all of it with the teeth cupped up.
