Subject: Removing impellers from a JD635

Orange County NY
Has anyone done this?

I have 10 ac. of rye I would like to make straw out of. Rye seed is still a little soft but stalks are drying down. My problem is the rye wraps around the impellers on the right side. Can`t go 10 ft and it is wrapped TIGHT. Tried everything I can think of, slower, faster, pick the machine up a little, still wraps.
Was thinking about removing the impeller. I see several newer mowers are offered without any conditioners and everyone likes them that way.
Doesn`t look like a big job, or maybe it is. If it worked I would consider leaving it out for all our hay, alfalfa and grass.
