March of "09 I got five bypasses. Surgeon's bill was in the $8500 range. Anestheseology was in the $4300 range. Hospital bill was $54,000, which the insurance company negotiated down to $15K. Hospital actually "wrote off $39K because of its relationship with Blue Cross.
