If you "made" a new knife, make sure the register is the same as the old one, or more specifically, the same as your cutter bar guards...the spacing much match exactly, and the travel must be exact: point of each knife section hidden in the exact center of each guard at each end of the stroke. Putting a knife together out of random parts leaves many measurement to chance.
