Subject: RE: Cover crop peas in 60” Corn

North Central Illinois
We received 7/10" of rain the day after I cultivated and broadcast those cover crops. Just enough to get them started, except for the drier areas of the field are still pretty slow getting going.

Hopefully you didn't get too much water. We could use some. I'm not very optimistic about the berseem clover and annual ryegrass that I spread off the back of the cultivator on Sunday in v6 corn on 30" rows. Looks like it won't get a rain before the corn is very big. Maybe the bit of seed that lands ahead of the cultivator action will have a chance though. It was worth the $10/acre gamble though.
