It seems yes unless the sign person is that big of a butt that people remember that they are a butt and vote for the other name.
Happened here with sherriff and his constant "look at me" scams, including a bowling alley, and saying tickets were up, because he set a quota...which when all 50 officers sit in one town, the one with the most people and businesses, it isn't very popular.
