I keep hearing about how CC's plug tile, but I have yet to have that happen here. And I have a LOT of old, shallow clays that don't get plugged. And I grow ARG, which is deep rooting. Here are a few pics of a tile fix in a field which has been seeded to ARG for many years. I did not measure the depth of the tile, but it is average for the farm. You can see where voles chewed through the tile creating a suck hole. I found it an excellent opportunity to take some pics of what I see "here" for CC roots. You can see, that the roots go all the way AROUND and under the tile. Even partially grow into the tile.
