Subject: RE: Dash cam in semi truck

central - east central Minnesota -

Survivor - 6/30/2020 18:57 Wanting to put one in a grain truck. Something simple. Anyone use one of these lesser grade dash cams? Apparently use vibration to sense recording and wondering if sitting in line at the elevator, idle vibrations, are enough to make one record, creating a very long, useless video filling up a data card with nothing. Any experts on this?

Dash cam's I'm familiar with record when vehicle is started - they run in continuous loop, recording over the previous 3-8 hr card (depends on how big a SD card is in it). Then if you want to save a "event", you hit the save button or alert the app on your phone to safe such and such event in that time frame.
So, sitting in line would be recorded, unless you manually stop it and then have to remember to restart it . . . . .
