Subject: RE: Top Dressing AMS Vs Urea

We do something similar to what you're talking about but slightly different. We apply about 120-130 upfront then top dress 100 lbs AMS, 100 lbs MAP, 100 lbs potash and then usually 50 lbs of AMN or Urea depending on the forecast. Yield goal is 180 and the P&K are spread for next years soybean crop but feel we get a benefit from the starter in MAP the the potash is typically readily available after after its incorporated so the corn plant has easy access to it if needed. We do this pass between V3 and V6 but our CEC's are mainly 18 to 22 with the occasional area of 15. 240 lbs of AMS is a lot of sulfur, what's your yield goal?
