Carbondale, KS

We put our N on with a 2800 Case IH (DMI) applicator.  The booms were extended a bit to reconfigure everything to be a 16 row instead of 15.  We use a low disturbance opener and the rows are set up 6-7" to the inside of the corn row.  It could be used for sidedressing but we put all of ours down pre.   Plant with rtx and run the same gps lines.

When we first got it we spent 2 years experimenting with the band placement vs the corn row (middle, angled, actually down the row, 3-4" offset etc).  What we found out was if it was rainy and moved the N around a bunch it wasn't too big of a deal but if it was a bit on the dry side the better corn was that planted close to the N band.  Soil type played a role too as more clay = less movement.   So based off our observations we configured things as mentioned above and have been happy with that since.
