I've been neglecting to visit my one field of strip corn because of road construction the past couple weeks. But I stopped in today and grabbed a quick picture. The hybrids are doing what I had hoped in staggering their heights to further the sunlight capture of the inner rows. Three different brands of seed involved. A 116 day that silks early has very good stay green and handles drought conditions well. Doesn't have the best test weight. 114 day that has early season vigor with good top end and 62+ tw. 113 day that is short likes population and doesn't dry the best. So it works good for the border. Between the three they will have a great overlap on pollination and any cross pollination will be welcomed. Maybe even encouraged in the future. I have the same hybrids planted alone in strips so we will see if the single or multiple hybrid approach makes more sense this fall.

Well done!
