Here in the US, we could have substantially slowed the progress of COVID-19 if we had shut down all travel in/out of NYC. Most of the cases in flyover country end up being traced back to someone coming through NYC in early March.
So it stands to reason if we had isolated NYC, even Canada would have been spared some of your cases.
