Subject: RE: bagging rates

NE Iowa
Neighbor does chopping and bagging for me with a 9' Ag-Bag bagger. I buy the bags myself and paid $540 for a 300' ($1.80/foot). He charges $2.75 per foot of bag to rent the bagger and a man to run it. He charges for the full 300' of the bag even though you lose some on both ends. I also pay him $30 per hour to rent the tractor for the bagger since I don't have an extra to spare at the time. He charges $35 per load (16' boxes) to chop and my tractors haul the loads. I also provide the fuel for his chopper and bagger tractor. He charges the same for chopping both corn and hay and his chopper does have a processor for corn.
