SE IA | 4 to 5 inches you may get them in 1 pass. Spray as soon as you can get in field, and look at them 10 days later and be ready to hit second trip 14 days after application. About 1/3 of mine have had to be resprayed (which is why we went enlist in 2020) and 2 trips of Liberty is 99.9% effective.
First application will blow the tops out of weeds and you expose the growing points deeper in canopy. If u hit them 14 days later, you can still get adequate coverage. If you wait 21 or 28 days after application, the weed canopy is just as dense when u first sprayed and will be in same boat.
Liberty needs coverage, it doesnt translocate. 20 GPA minimum and AMS, dont use a look alike AMS product, Liberty needs the NH4 ion to work. Water is the cheapest thing in your spray tank, dont skimp.
The xtend lovers will say that Liberty is weak on grass, but ive never missed grass.....well only perennial grass which it isnt supposed to kill anyway.
Enjoy it because it will not ding your neighbors whole field of Xtend beans....and if it does hit them, then he will have a reason to protect himself next year by going to Liberty.
