SC KS | Just about to wrap up wheat here in Kansas and getting ready to start thinking about corn. So for those of you that custom pick corn, what do y’all charge and how do you charge? For wheat I charge anywhere from 3 21s to 3 23s. Around home(southern Kansas) I’m thinking about just flat rate $28 an acre for a neighbor, but I might try to find a larger job from a feedyard out in western Kansas somewhere or possibly west Texas. Wondering what would be a fair rate to charge so I could get some work. Both picking and hauling. Class 8 Combine, 8 row corn head, 1000 bushel cart, and at least 3 trucks, maybe more. Never have custom picked enough corn to know what’s fair. Any help greatly appreciated. Again I am in Kansas. Thanks! | |
