Subject: Iowa, Iowa, Iowa!

Pierce county WI
I keep hearing that Iowa is going to have this massive crop. I have been all over Iowa the last 2 weeks. Se Iowa was dry 2 weeks ago. That's not the flat black ground, so how much reserve? Parts of Western Iowa are getting very dry. I saw some beautiful crop around for sure. The big surprise was there's a swath from probably 69 to the west, to 63 on the east that goes probably to 30 at the south, up into southern Minnesota that looks to have been way to wet. The key to massive yields isn't 250 bu corn, it's not raising anything under 170. Iowa should have a good crop, but just because it got planted early doesn't mean it's going to mature early. I didn't see much that was going to be tasseled by the fourth of july. The dry and heat sets in now and goes into the extended forecast. The previous 2 years the crop was overstated, what makes you think this year they get it right?
