North Central Illinois | I'll add two things. Volunteer buckwheat is a reality that needs to be planned for. If a couple flushes come up before planting I like the few that escape in round 3. Corn planted before the first flush comes up is scary ugly, but I actually got away with it based on the strips I didn't replant. Very ample moisture that season though.
I have heard good things about teff grass for hay but no personal experience. | |
