SW WI | One summer I was having a particularly hard time with my HMC for hog feed. I think it was before putting a new roof on my harvestore. It would just cake up inside the pvc tube of my flex auger. About 130’ run. Went to grinding 2 times a day to keep the feed fresh with no carry over ...still would have the motor lug down and auger line “jump” not running smooth and consistent. My plan was to pull flex out, tap on pvc to try to clean out/off the plastic. Couldn’t pull out by hand. I used a skid steer with wife and kids watching it didn’t get caught on the way out and rip down the pvc with it.
Got it clean, put auger back in and in summer from then on mixed in just about 20% dry corn with HMC....never had that problem again...and never wanted to. | |
