jjoseph - 6/27/2020 08:48 Why feed this corn crop any more ? We already hit way under our crop insurance payment so by fertilizing it and putting fungicide on all we’re doing is helping out Uncle Sam for not paying out so much Crop insurance

Crop insurance is not funded as most insurance is, by the people that buy it.

Crop insurance payments also don't come from some mythical "Uncle Sam".

Crop insurance payments mostly come from other non-farm USA taxpayers, or more accurately the Chinese and others who purchase the US bonds funding our massive federal debt increases created largely by tax cuts for the wealthy and made worse by trade mess bribes to a certain voting base...

Come on Jim. Folks are buying treasuries because they like the risk vs. return. No one is holding a gun to their head and china has less than 15% and dropping and is less than Japan. So by your measure china provide none of the insurance the last two years. They could sell it if they want but don't because they like the return/risk.  1 trillion dollar deficit each year is at best 100 billion due to tax cuts, Obama oversaw half of the debt it years ago.
Jim that is nothing but a partisan rant, you can do better.
