sw ontario | Johnny , IDK what to believe anymore other than hog checks are pretty small.....any bred sows that were aborted because of covid 19 won't show up until early 2021....this week we were completely 'caught up' shipping and for the first time we got a call asking to put some pigs on a truck to fill a load........with food joints & home cooking changing IDK if that helps or hurts demand , usually bbq season is good for pork.........other than Jumbo sows very little value in lights or boars.........and as an old guy I never realized that those 400 lb. mkt. hogs don't work as good as sows for sausage as the meat/fat ratio changes sausage color.....SEW & weaners not on contract are cheap to nearly free... | |
