South West Central, Ohio. | Biggest mistake I've made is overstocking ,it gets awful muddy in Ohio and they can ruin a pasture. Cattle haven't been real profitable for me , but I'm still learning how to better manage my grass. The grass is the money , you just sell it in the form of beef. I still think it's good to diversify and get operating cost down , I think hay and pasture can help with this. Look up a video of Joel Salatin on YouTube, I think its on advancing ecological agriculture, he claims you can make over twice the money running stocker cattle on grass in the cornbelt as compared to raising corn. |
