Off peak charging is a stop gap. How many EV's will it take before off-peak becomes the new peak? Honest question because I have no idea. Maybe its more than i think.


I think it's actually quite a few. A/C takes a LOT of juice in the afternoon. Not so much between midnight and six am.

From what I've read, I think a charging Tesla and a home central air are comparable loads. So, if you could interlock the outlets somehow, so that the car only draws charge when the A/C isn't running, there's no increased peak.
