CENTRAL ILLINIOS | I really don’t know much about the power industry but I have two brothers in law in the business (engineers). Some companies are in generation, some transmission, some distribution, and some all three or a mix. In my mind the electric cars will charge mostly at night and create demand when there is currently some slack. That would make the off peak power worth more and most of that would go to the generation side I would think but then again there might be other things coming in to play (like solar) that would be a negative for traditional generation companies.
Another thing to consider is how cheap oil affects electric car sales especially when the true environmental costs of electric cars gets factored in. | |
