Subject: RE: Grass fed butcher calf question

Mid MO
My brother just sold a big, open heifer. She wasn't working, so she was fat as a tick. He started graining her just to make sure the fat was white. This was to a local.

As to the Toyota, bicycle bunch..... if fooling with them provides cash flow and helps keep the country in sod rather than subdivisions--- take their money! They aren't going away anytime soon and if they can spend 5 grand on a bicycle then they might as well put money in your pocket. Any calf that's short and a goofy color might be worth growing out on grass, spay if it's a heifer.

Let it hang 2 wks if your worried about being tough. On gfb, the flavor of the meat is a reflection of the grass their on. Rank fescue doesn't make good beef but clover and orchard grass does. Merchandise what you already have (;
