swMN | We always had a "pumphouse" at the home place, pressure tank and starter motor, insulated but still needed supplemental heat, you could take the top off if you had to pull the pump, you could also replace the pressure tank or switch yourself also, had to dig a new well about 10 years ago, guy talked dad into one of those in casing pressure tanks, eliminating the pump house, what a pain in the rear, the pressure switch sits up in the top of the head, in the middle of winter that doesn't work so well, I wish he would've put a pressure tank and stuff in his basement . At a pasture we have there is no pressure tank or switch just an old pump Jack under the old windmill, runs with electric motor, hooked to an electric float switch.
