West Central Illinois | Looking to buy a used 9' disc mower as I currently run a sickle bar mower and just can't keep up with getting hay cut in these short spells between rains and I'm doubling my hay acreage next year. I like to mow a lot of waterways as well so the 3 pt. seems to be my best option as I'm not willing to give up my "free rent" hay ground.
I've been reading as much as possible about these to get a better understanding of how they work and possible wear points, what would you guys look for when looking at a used disc mower? Unfortunately the wife has not cleared me to get a new one but am looking for something 10-15 years old. On something like this unless it was a retirement sale I'm staying away from auctions to avoid mowers that are worn out, otherwise I've got word out to all the used implement dealers in the area to notify me if they get something in on trade. | |
