Rudolph, WI | Our identical twin boys are 15 now, they have a $75 bat and a $300+ bat that they shared the last couple of years(both 33", drop 3, end loaded). Definitely a little more pop out of the composite, but have hit several over the fence home runs with either. They practice with the cheap bat and only use the composite in games if temperature is above 60 degrees, and twist the bat a quarter turn between hits. Our boys are 6'+ tall, so not often any teammates borrow the bats because they can't swing them fast enough. However, we would not have spent the extra money if they didn't show at least average talent, but they have been doing very well and are very fun to watch. Actually, just bought them a dozen practice baseballs this morning, those aren't cheap either.
A little surprised they are actually starting practice next week and have about 20 games scheduled, if everything works out here in Wisconsin. $250 each just to sign up for this team alone. Rather pay it than not have them play I guess.
