western iowa,by Denison | happy after experimenting with simple 643-and a cross shaft on the head-then went to adapter with koomia and 893 head-then went to there new adapter with a 608-corn head and all my troubles were gone-a 7400 would handle the new adapter and push a very nice 608-we just run knife rolls but also did on the 893-the 608 will feed going down hill and not flip any ears out-with feed quality being most important an good combo on front to keep your 7400 full will help-and farther down the road if you upgrade to a larger chopper-say a 7850 or a 7950 you can run same heads and adapter-green corn is very harsh on a 893-we got along better with a wore out 643-but the 608 from the 893 was a game changer along with koomia's adapter | |
