Coastal South Carolina | Here is how I have stacked/covered hay for years.
Bottom row 3 wide standing up.
Second row 2 wide laying down.
Third row 1 laying in valley of second row.
Perfect pyramid.
I place a 4X4 on peak
I then take 40 penny nails/spikes and drive into bottom bales pulling cover tight. I leave about 6 inches uncovered on the ends. This leaves wind/breeze tunnels from end to end. I very rarely have any spoilage.
