I do that all the time with fodder and straw. I use 40foot wide and stack 3 on bottom 2 next layer and 1 on top. Sometimes wind wrecks havoc but I have a fodder pile that I covered last November that is still covered. Sometimes I will stack bales on the end to close plastic up. Seems plastic holds up better if wind can't get in. I don't know why it wouldn't work for dry hay.
Will this work for covering hay?
