WY, OK
Larkspur has a long pillar of blue/purple flowers and by the time it blooms the leaves at the bottom will be turning yellow and burning up. Also by the time it gets matured and would look anything like that other grasses are tall enough that cows generally don't chase it like they do in early spring when they usually die from it.

If you ever do get Larkspur poisoning and they are alive but laid out the biggest slug of chewing tobacco you can find directly down their throat can save them. Worst thing you can do is make them walk or run. The real treatment requires a compound pharmacist to mix some nasty stuff up.

We either went after it with shovels, because it grows in smaller clusters in gullies, or just didn't graze known bad pastures until July. Did spray a few sections several years ago with a plane, and that was only because the neighboring place had it bad on about 6K acres so spraying a few thousand more wasn't a big deal but still wasn't cheap.
