Thanks for the insight! I too was curious why you buy that many puts on that many head. Makes sense. Really wishing the board worked for hedging like it’s supposed to, but I guess I’ll trade anything if it gives me some protection.
I think I would want to be careful that my protection wasn't eating up any profit.
It might be a whole bunch cheaper and far more profitable to have empty pens than to dump money into raising inputs and then loosing your shirt on the animals.
Its one difficult line to tip toe down - - - - doesn't help when society has been turned upside down!!! |
