You won't like this response but does it matter? IMO the 2019 marketing season should have been over months ago(other than basis on storage). So ask yourself would you have been better off over the years taking the usda as gospel or standing your ground to prove them wrong? If they are so wrong we should be running out soon correct? Fact is farmers would be much better off reading the reports and marketing based ON THEM instead of in spite of them. The show you an average farm prize to expect with the estimated S&D but that is rarely talked about. On an average they come much closer than anyone on NAT estimating both so the clue in the reports should be price. Given opportunities above sales should be considered, dig in your heels when below. Yes they will be wrong at times and the market will have larger moves, there is always more crop to sell unless you are retiring or going broke proving them wrong.
