Not really, 7 to 8bpa on a national scale is huge. Many on here cannot grasp the concept though that as sample size increases deviation decreases. It's why usda, or anyone else, can take a yield guess before planting and generally come close.
To add also, I agree the crop progress seems inaccurate at times, likely why it doesn't seem to get traded that much.



It’s easy to come close when you
Control all the information that is released after the crop is in... they can say anything they want at this point and everyone accepts it because they have to ... and they know that..
