| I'll make a general comment on this topic: Large acquisitions basically don't work out. I can hardly think of one that did. It looks great on the spread sheet and the investment bankers have wonderful power point slides and barrels full of j#rk off lube for the buyer but it basically doesn't work out. The synergies won't be realized. The "dis-synergies" are never talked about but are absolutely real. They are just normally a disaster. If you own a company and they announce a big deal (unless ou are the one being acquired) history shows you are probably better off ditching your shares... | |
