With what you are talking about doing the next step is to identify a GPS display and learn the architecture of the monitoring and control system. We were in a similar situation where I needed to build a setup that would provide enough functionality so dad could still plant effectively which was steering, population and especially row shut off for headland overlap. I picked Trimble because we had a 500 with EZSteer at the time and excellent local support. Downloaded the FMX cabling guide and started buying new,NOS and used stuff to fit the guide. Almost always ended with extra stuff which I resell through AgTalk or eBay. Example page based on your wish list.

Your clutch options include half width which might be possible by purchasing a complete used transmission, TruCount air clutches (lots of used systems unless you want meter mount), sure stop electric (chain) or maybe cable drive with electric (lots of them for sale but ?? fit to 7000)

Note - We started with a WAAS FMX but upgraded two years ago to a TMX RTK. All the Field IQ planting components work with the new display so it was a simple switchover.
