One of the guys that helps me has that done every 6 months at Mayo. Has for several years.
It really helps him if the right guy does it. Really hurts if the wrong guy does it. If I recall it is a Radio Frequency needle that 'burns' off the nerve endings. The nerves do grow back though, hence why he is on the 6 month rotation.
