ND should be small grains and grass. I don’t know why you harvest corn in June and don’t think there might be a problem with your climate and corn
It sounds like the corn combined in June in North Dakota is just as good of quality as the rest of the country, and it came off nice and dry.
Corn is an asset in the rotation in our Northern Climates because we can carry the harvest through to the next spring. If we can’t harvest small grains before the snow starts, you burn it off the next spring and take the loss. Corn we can still harvest.
Also, if corn wasn’t profitable in North Dakota people wouldn’t be planting it. If you think North Dakota shouldn’t be planting corn, then you just need to price them out of the market by producing more corn at a lower price. |
