Southeast Colorado | You get 60% of what your guarantee is, so if you've elected 75% coverage, then yes, it'd be 60% of 75% of your APH.............but you still have to pay the full premium rate.
A few of the good things about it.........
1. You don't have to count it against your APH.........it's just a non existent year. If you plant and fail it counts against you.
2. It's a true 60%..........unlike when they usually count 2 or 3 bushels against you when determining loss on a failed planted crop.
3. You can plant wheat this fall at full insurance........so agronomically it seems like the right thing to do. Wait and store a little moisture for a successful wheat crop hopefully. | |
