NWIL
I played with SS last year. Baled triticale on June 2, seeded SS on June 14. Took the first cutting and wrapped it July 26, then took a second cutting (three times yield of first) on September 17. So yes, you can easily get one cutting, and likely two.

Gave one bag to a neighbor that used it as a cover crop sort to try and build OM where hog buildings got tore down, and it worked

Did the same this weekend. Bales triticale on Saturday, drilled SS on Sunday.

This is about 10 miles away from you, on a farm you’ve been on at your place of previous employment.

If you want some seed, send me an email as I have several bags left over, and it’s starting to get kinda short supply.

And I realize now you were mainly asking about time between wheat crops. Out west when I was on harvest they were seeding winter wheat the same time we were still harvesting it, once even in the same field.
