Huron county Mi | Working on a jd 7800 power quad.
Started out by having to replace the line from the charge pump to the hydraulic filter, and found another gem along the way. Got everything put back together and thought all was well until we tried to unhook the sprayer today. The three point wouldn’t go down far enough to unhook the sprayer. When the tractor was shut off the hitch would settle enough to get below the sprayer hitch and we were able to pull the tractor away from the sprayer so we can now work on our newest problem.
As soon as we start the tractor the hitch goes all the way up it doesn’t car where the lever is, if it’s all the way up halfway down or all the way down, it just goes up and drops to about halfway when the key is off. If I set the loader bucket on top of the Three point hitch it won’t go up when the tractor is started, if I raise the bucket the hitch goes up and when I lower the bucket the hitch goes down but not past the halfway point, it will hold the front of the loader tractor up(backhoe). With pressure on the hitch it will raise and lower as it should but only to about halfway down.
So during our endeavor These are some of the things we did (Not in order) to access the steel line that needed replacing
. had to remove filter housing
. Removed hydraulic line to three point lift cylinder
. Removed hydraulic line circled in red in one of the pics not sure what this line does? ( I am starting to think this line needs to be pressurized)
. Reassembled
In one of the pictures I was changing out the potentiometer to rule it out.
