We had a 7000 and bought an international unit drive planter to plant beans for a few years. The first time I looked at taking off sprockets and switching them to change the population I thought what a step backwards compared to the transmission setup on the 7000. Maybe you could mount a JD transmission somewhere on the front of that frame to drive your seed units?
