where you'll find.. data such as this.




Notice how ethanol at the Gulf is running at $1.246 vs the weighted Average Aromatic Price of Benzene (Causes Cancer) Toluene. (safer but not by much) and Xylene (ditto) is $1.244 pretty close to ethanol.

Ethanol has the advantage as it's cleaner, renewable, safer and it doesn't cause Cancer.

Here's where the battle lies..



With EPA handing out waivers.. Aromatics have extracted more of the consumers dollars.. 



This is what EPA has done to us.. THIS IS WRONG!! on SO MANY LEVELS.

The aromatics usually rise during the summer (is anything normal this year?)



The US has basically phased out MTBE usage.. but Big Oil still sells it to countries which have VERY LAX Environmental standards such as Mexico.  Recently all petroleum alternatives have gone on sale so we need to remain vigilant to get our Market share BACK!!
