Not sure it would matter if you have one metal and one plastic. Have run both upper and lower in 1460 for many years plastic, just new one in the top for the 1680 last fall, I think bottom is metal but not sure, anyway worked great. Wouldn't go back to metal. Mines aftermarket. Got it though Shoup. It's a Gateway, made by HHC.
