Your setup with mirrors sounds interesting. Wouldn’t the mirrors have to be mounted exactly plumb? Seems it would be hard to get them that precise. I guess if you checked the laser beforehand and know it is truly level when set at 0, you could adjust the mirror to reflect back to the exact same height as what the transmitter is at.
